Biography

Lund is Fine Artist with a colorist Naïve style adopted in his artwork. His creativity was expressed since a child and became self taught in early adult hood in his unique and distinct approach. Twenty years later, as a mature student, he took this innate skill and studied a BA (Hons) Fine Art Degree at Bradford University (UK). His practice ranged from mixed media, paints, screen printing and more with an infusion and explosion of vibrancy he has become renowned for in the professional arts market. Other work has included live art and performance, as the infamous ‘Funkadelic Chicken’, an adaptation from his hybridized creatures embodied in his works and philosophical texts on the theme and title ‘Animal Utopia’. His artwork incorporates abstractions of space and time and reference of hybridism, urbanism, juxtaposed to concept of natural order. He has exhibited and performed extensively through many festivals, exhibitions, biennials and has an active role in the management and creative developments of Transvoyeur.

Artists Statement

Lund: " My artwork I feel now has a freshness, energy, liveliness and abundance of colour. It is formed by mixed media and paints with bright and exuberant tones. The compositions and subjects are naive in the style I adopt. It is non-conformist to become more individualistic and using my imagination. My artwork embodies colourful passionate abstractions of space and time. It references hybridism, urbanism, juxtaposed to Amazonianism. This is to largely realise the tones and textures captured from the real to our desires. In my latest work for the images manifest creatures, surreal abstractions of the genetically hybridised. They are an idealisation and capture the iconic in multi-cultural facets of a place and people. These visualisations are shown through strong colour and are a visual dialogue from my philosophical texts set on 'Animal Utopia'”.
